Demetrius has 12 years of experience in the mental health field. He has worked in various capacities such as residential facilities, group homes and community mental health programs that service children and adults. Demetrius enjoys helping others evolve to be better versions of themselves and witnessing the hard work put forth it requires to achieve such challenging feats. As a former Division I collegiate athlete, Demetrius understands and empathizes with others as it pertains to addressing mental health challenges while sustaining optimal performance to succeed. Through Demetrius’s journey in becoming a therapist, he recognized the benefits of receiving support from an objective lens to help address and redirect any irrational and intrusive beliefs that would negatively impact his functioning. Demetrius received his undergraduate degree in Human Services from Northeastern University and master’s degrees in both Human Services and Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Demetrius is a native of Maryland but has been a Virginia resident for nearly 18 years.

Demetrius enjoys using person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solutions focused, strength based, reality, motivational, and mindfulness approaches. Demetrius specializes in coaching for optimal performance, which includes addressing self-awareness, self-confidence, self-esteem, setting goals, enhancing communication and emotional regulation skills.

In his spare time, Demetrius enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, being active in sports and fitness, reading, writing, and relaxing.
